Football Is My Life
Lee Geum-min, South Korea
My name is Lee Geum-min, a player of the Korean women's national football team. I started track and field when I was in elementary school, but I joined a football club because I liked football more than track and field and had good leaders.
I played football in middle school, high school, university, and then with a professional football team in Korea. Now I play for the Brighton women's football team in the WSL in England, where I took my photos before the World Cup.
We have been training in Australia for the upcoming World Cup. We are having a good camp. Hopefully we pass the group stage and stay in Australia for as long as possible.
Football continues to be one of the most popular sports in Korea. Many regions are developing football and the number of football fans continues to increase.
Koreans are more interested in women's football than ever before, and more women are playing football. Overseas clubs are also more interested in Korean women's football players. I hope more Korean players will advance to Europe and challenge themselves through international competitions.
Football is my life and the best place to show the glory of God. Before the game, I always prepare with prayer.
Starting with this World Cup, I hope there will be more Korean women's football fans and more children who want to play football. I hope that the market value of women's football around the world will increase, and the environment of women's football will be better.
